Kick Kennedy, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin and Morgan O’Connor Host
Symrise New York Studio Opening
On Wednesday October 7th, environmentalist Kick Kennedy, along with Ralph Lauren model Morgan O’Connor, and HSN’s Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin hosted the opening of Symrise‘s New York Studio onPark Avenue where it was announced that Kennedy will join Symrise on a perfumer’s trek to Madagascar to identify unique new sustainable fragrance raw materials. It was also announced that a fragrance was created for Morgan O’Connor inspired by his philanthropic organization Sailing Heals.
Achim Daub, Global President of Symrise’s Scent & Care Division welcomed celebrity guests including The Real Housewives of New York’s Dorinda Medley; industry executives including Estee Lauder’s Daniel Annese, Ann Gottlieb, Marc Rosen and Pamela Vaile; perfumers including Emilie Coppermann and David Apel; and philanthropists Pamela O’Connor and Jean Shafiroff.
Daub proclaimed the event as “the launch of an exciting era at Symrise with the kick-off of the Symrise Amazon Program this past Spring, the forthcoming perfumer treks to Madagascar aimed at developing sustainable new fragrance ingredients, the acquisition of US fragrance raw materials company Pinova, Inc., as well as the launch of the world’s first fragrance genealogy app.”
Béatrice Mouleyre, Senior V.P. Global Fine Fragrance, followed Daub to say, “This office is more than a work place; it is a place for us to share our dream of having a good time and creating outstanding new fine fragrances.” Rhona Stokols V.P. Fine Fragrance in North America, then spoke about Symrise’s “exciting collaborations in the worlds of fashion, entertainment and sustainability with their partnerships” including those with Kick, Consuelo and Morgan.
Kick Kennedy will accompany Symrise on a trip to Madagascar to witness the company’s sustainable methods of vanilla harvesting on November 1st 2015. Globally, Symrise is the largest producer of natural sustainable vanilla, with the majority coming from Madagascar where they have been lauded for their efforts in cultivating a sustainable and eco-conscious method of farming for the past 10 years.
